2010 - 2020 // MY PORTFOLIO THROUGH THE YEARS
With the start of a new decade I thought it could be fun to dig back through old archives and do a ten year post! Strictly speaking, I shot my first wedding in 2011 not 2010, but I registered my business at the end of 2010 so I guess it sort of counts?
I have to say.. although my editing has changed and over the years I’ve gained so much experience, I still really quite like some of my very early work. Matthew and Lynsey’s was one of the first weddings I ever shot (below with the balloons and car), a week before my own, and I have such a soft spot for their vintage style wedding that they held at the same college they met at. I also look back and feel huge gratitude for those earlier couples who put their faith in me to shoot their days when I had a much more limited portfolio.
There are plenty of styled shoots with What Katy Did Next along the way, which really helped me network and learn of so many other talented local wedding suppliers and make some fab connections.. I also realised going back through these images just how many couples and families I’m still in touch with after their weddings. I know of so many babies, travels, house moves and other big events that have happened over the years now - it all feels incredibly special.
Anyway! If I’ve shot your wedding over the years you may spot yourselves here, obviously this isn’t a hugely comprehensive collections (I now have over 200 weddings under my belt and it’s simply impossible to include them all!)
Here is how the past ten years have looked for me and my little business..
