BEHIND THE CAMERA
I'm Sally, and I'm a photographer based in North Yorkshire, covering the entire UK and beyond.
I have a degree in Fine Art and a Masters in Journalism; I worked for papers and on the radio before going full time with photography back in 2013. I like to think that my work combines a background of creativity and storytelling.
I love travelling, meeting new people, hearing stories, live music, getting outdoors and capturing all these things as I go.
I’m a very sentimental person and it's definitely why photography is so close to my heart - I have a strong impulse to create and to document moments to look back on in years to come. Growing up, my room was covered in tickets, photos, postcards, pages torn from magazines, quotes from books and articles I liked, doodles and other ephermia.. Even now I find myself collecting memories and little things that 'mean something'.
I bought a DSLR with the last £200 of my student loan while I was studying Fine Art at uni and started keeping a photography blog; immediately people started asking me if they could buy prints or if I'd take photographs for them. It became a sideline project of mine while I was in uni, then a small business, and at the end of 2013 I went full time.
Very quickly I found myself shooting weddings all over the world and have since been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, OK! Magazine, Hello Magazine, The Telegraph, The Independent, BBC, Stylist Magazine and a variety of other UK and international wedding blogs and publications.
