Katie & Mark | Hunley Hall Saltburn-by-the-Sea Wedding

As much as I love exploring different parts of the country for weddings, it’s always lovely to closer to home too, and Mark & Katie’s August Hunley Hall wedding in Saltburn-by-the-Sea was an absolute dream. The big day kicked off in St Francis of Assisi, a church which held many memories for both Mark & Katie’s family, and then it was off for the rest of the wedding at Hunley Hall for ridiculously amazing clifftop views, fizz to celebrate, magic, and dancing into the early hours..

Mark and Katie had been together since they were 14, real-life childhood sweethearts. Mark proposed while they were walking Bertie in Saltburn, so it felt totally right to head back there to celebrate for their Hunley Hall wedding too.

Katie chose a beautiful gardenia lace dress from Laura Day, along with her mum’s stunning diamond bracelet and wedding garter. Mark and his groomsmen looked equally sharp in navy suits from Bakers Tailoring, and Bertie their dog looked fabulous in his little collared bow tie.

The theme for the day was rustic pink and lace and lots and lots of flowers for Katie, and horse racing bets were handed out as favours, together with a cigar, whiskey and brandy bar for Mark. There was so much attention to detail (step this way for rustic pink wedding inspiration!), even Bertie had his own place setting!

When asked what they will most cherish of the day, Katie says "It has to be the moment I saw Mark at the altar, as well as seeing our families and friends come together to celebrate. Just seeing people laughing and dancing and really seeming to enjoy the day as much as we did really makes me smile. I loved it from start to finish – from having a sleepover with my bridesmaids to just marrying my best friend.’

Looking back at the photographs, Katie says ‘I have so many photographs from the day that I love! Each captures the love, happiness and joy of our special day and it never felt like a chore. I particularly love the photo of my husband and I with the lovely scenery of Saltburn in the background and Mark touching my tummy as amazingly our first baby got to be part of our special day!’ What a perfect way to round off their Hunley Hall wonderful wedding with wonderful people.
