With the start of a new decade I thought it could be fun to dig back through old archives and do a ten year post! Strictly speaking, I shot my first wedding in 2011 not 2010, but I registered my business at the end of 2010 so I guess it sort of counts?
Read MoreIt’s time for my 2019 highlights! Every year I dig back through folders and hard drives and pick out some favourites from the year and do a bit of a ‘review’.. this year was my busiest *ever* and it took a while to narrow it down to this set but here you go! Big love and happy 2020 you lot!

Read MoreWell Saturday was just one of those perfect Summer wedding days.. the sun was shining for Jess and Jack's wedding at Dewsall Court - an amazing venue in Hereford, which looked like some sort of French Chateau in amazing grounds, and the entire day was a dream to shoot. They married outside, before having welcome drinks on the lawn then heading down to a barn for the meal and evening celebrations.
Read MoreLast Thursday was just perfect. Jen and Dan were a fabulous and so-in-love couple, their venue was beautiful and the sun shone all day long. I was so excited to join them for their Sandhole Oak Barn wedding in Cheshire - I love a relaxed barn wedding and they had styled this beautiful venue to perfection - it was personal, elegant, slightly rustic and everything just came together perfectly.
Read MoreSomething I chat to my couples a lot between them booking and their wedding is their timings. I routinely send out timings forms (as most photographers do) ahead of the wedding to check and confirm locations, ceremony time, meal time, when the speeches will be.. you get the idea. The weddings I cover each year are really varied in that a lot of my couples are having weddings at venues with co-ordinators, and a lot are organising a lot of their own timings and their days have a more 'DIY' approach. Some of the weddings I cover are structured, and some aren't. Every wedding is different.
Hopefully this blog post will help cover any questions and give some advice that I've picked up along the way over my years shooting weddings.
Read More2017 was another busy, exciting and special year for so many reasons.. My work has taken me all over the UK and abroad, I've met and worked with truly wonderful couples, laughed and cried through speeches and unscripted moments, tried to push myself creatively more than ever, charged and packed my kit, shot, then charged and packed again (ad infinitum), and really tried to push and bring myself and my own approach to my work more than ever before..
Read MoreA Whinstone View wedding is always *even* more special when there are three of you celebrating - is becomes a full family celebration when there is a little one watching parents tie the knot too. Sophie and Chris married with little Nolah as a flower girl - a beautiful Whinstone View wedding near Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. I love a North Yorkshire/Teesside barn wedding! The sun shone, vows were said, tears were shed, drinks were had, games were played and shapes were thrown. Here are their preview pictures from their perfect Summer Wray's Barn at Whinstone View wedding..
Read MoreAs much as I love exploring different parts of the country for weddings, it’s always lovely to closer to home too, and Mark & Katie’s August Hunley Hall wedding in Saltburn-by-the-Sea was an absolute dream. The big day kicked off in St Francis of Assisi, a church which held many memories for both Mark & Katie’s family, and then it was off for the rest of the wedding at Hunley Hall for ridiculously amazing clifftop views, fizz to celebrate, magic, and dancing into the early hours..

Read MoreWell.. British Summer finally arrived and I was lucky enough for it to coincide with a mega trip down South for Sian and Steve's Bournemouth beach wedding. Perfect timing. I met Sian and Steve at Sarah and Mark's wedding, they both worked for Take A Break magazine and we ended up crying laughing over some of amazingly crazy stories they'd come across whilst working there.. I was over the moon to be there to photograph their Bournemouth beach wedding, a day which they shared with Steve's gorgeous son, Robert. Sian's excitement at literally everything ("OHMYGOD it's the sea!") is completely infectious and these two/three made me and the guests shed a few tears of joy more than once.. What a couple, what a family, what a setting and what a day. Here are Sian and Steve's Bournemouth beach wedding preview pictures.
Read MoreWhat a day.. There were patches of rain on the morning but everyone's optimism paid off and Anna and Mike's day was everything you'd want from a gorgeous, outdoor Summer Yorkshire tipi wedding. A huge top hat tipi, SO much bunting, a BHLDN wedding dress, a cheese cake and gold dinosaur cake toppers. Oh! And a ceilidh to round everything off. Absolutely bloody perfect. I love a North Yorkshire tipi outdoor wedding.. Here are a few preview pics..
Read MoreAhh Liverpool. I lived in Liverpool for a few years while at uni and it was so amazing to be back. Sara and Joey had a Liverpool city centre wedding - they married at the town hall before heading having an Oh Me Oh My wedding reception (a venue I've been dying to shoot in for so long..) accompanied by their daughter Mollie and family and friends. When I arrived there were blue, blue skies and only a few stray clouds, but after a few hours it seemed like every time we went to step out of the door for some pictures we would feel rain drops.. eventually we decided not to let it get the better of us and we headed out with a rainbow umbrella for some pictures in the city streets nearby - and it was totally worth it. What do you do if it rains on your wedding day..? Don't worry about it! There were some really beautiful touches at their Oh Me Oh My wedding, and I'm really looking forward to shooting there again next year. Anyway, here are some preview pictures from a sunny and rainy Liverpool city centre wedding in which we brought our own rainbows..
Read MoreOh my... WHERE TO START? I've known Jen for over five years now, she was the amazing florist (Butterflies in Linthorpe) who we booked for our own garden marquee wedding back in 2011. Over the years countless couples have booked both me and them for their North Yorkshire weddings so it's been lovely to keep in touch along the way. I was over the moon to be booked for Jen and Neil's Morritt Arms wedding, firstly because they are lovely, lovely people and secondly because I knew it would be full of beautiful blooms and be one of the prettiest weddings I've ever shot.. It didn't disappoint.
